Tonight (on the eve of my 70th birthday), DH and watched The New York City Ballet Nutcracker production. It was magical. Why? Because we weren’t in the live audience.

Years ago, we took our young son Steve to a live ballet performance in Phoenix.  We considered ourselves very lucky to snag tickets in the second row.

Did you know that ballet dancers sweat?  And when they leap into the air, they land with a THUD.

Kind of ruined the whole experience. And while we watched the performance tonight, we, at the SAME TIME, said “THUD” when a dancer landed after a high leap. I guess we’ve been married for a long time when we can tune into the same memories at the same time.

We thoroughly enjoyed the show projected onto our TV screen…..minus the THUDS and the sweat-induced sheen.
