Could be….

an infant octopus, or a jellyfish polyp. Photo was taken about 10 days after the full moon, which is when jellyfish come close to shore to mate. Octopus are laid in eggs, which the mother “broods” for up to a year, then they all hatch at once. Google photo search only confused me more as to which this was…. this 1 1/2″ specimen was floating at about 3 feet in 6 feet of water, near the shore
