We’re in good hands. Er….paws

I know he’s a smart boy. Even his name, Akamai, testifies to his wisdom. But I was still confused when, at 3am this morning he started nudging and pulling on my hand.  He usually sleeps through the night, only waking when I do at 5:30 am. I got blisters…..

No, not from playing my ukulele….it’s from winemaking! My latest batch of lilikoi wine has “ripened” and so I bottled it yesterday. In preparation, I took my super-duper-sized aluminum pot and boiled all my winebottles and caps to sterilize them. In removing the bottles from the water bath, my mitten hotpad dipped into the boiling water.  I couldn’t get the damned thing off fast enough!
